Ok, so I have a little extra cash and I wouldn't mind improving my PC's performance.

I currently have 2Gb of Ram, it's been 2 years so I forget what kind and all the specs. Any way to find this out other then taking 1 out?

I also have an ATI Radeon X1950 Pro.

For a few hundred, what can I get to make my rig faster? Now limit it but if something is just too good, post it up :)

Thanks in advance guys

Keep in mind, though, that alot of OCZ RAM needs to be over-volted a little to even run stable.

DDR2 = Dual channel? If it does mean the same thing my computer is running DDR2

Newegg doesn't ship to Canada, that's a bummer. They charge $30 less then the Canadian competitor...

No its not dual channel, any ram with the same specifications can run dual channel. The difference between them all is speed and power consumption.

IE:
DDR: 200 - 400MBps [SSTL_2, 2.5 volts]
DDR2: 400 - 800MBps [SSTL_18, 1.8 volts]
DDR3: 800 - 1600MBps [SSTL_15, 1.5 volts]

Your motherboard wont support all these though, Usually just one.
Edit: This is because of the DIMM key (A notch, free space with no pins) being in a different location.

Thanks for the explanation Demo. Just say it now. DDR2 is what I am currently running and now that NewEgg is selling to Canada, I will take advantage of the linked items.

Think you can find the time to recommend a good pci-e video card :)

Like demo said, do you want good and cheap that will last you a year or so, or a Jesus card that will last a few years?

Good and (kinda) cheap:

If you want really cheap (like around $100), and if you can still find one, get a 8800GT or GTS. As an owner of a x1950 pro before, it is a HUGE upgrade.

See demos for Jesus card
same card in evga flavor - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130365

Buying an EVGA is the best way to go... the main reason I bought my graphics cards from them a couple years ago was because they were (and I think still are) the only company that will replace your video card free if it gets damaged due to overclocking (that's kick ass!). If you don't overclock... then ignore me. :)

Price would be $300 ish.

I`m not looking for Jesus but I am looking at a serious upgrade.

I hear the 260 is pretty good and that fits near my range. I mention it since you liked the 280 Demo. It the 280 that much more spectacular for the $150 price difference?

That looks fine to me, Also id pay the few extra bucks for the overclocked version as it will have better cooling.

cool, thanks

Just installed the ram you recommended. About to try it out with WAR see how the ram upgrade works.
