its a RPS type game (role playing shooter)

there are hundreds of thousands of weapons, they used an AI computer generator to create the components of guns and what they shoot ie: rocket launching shotgun, flamethrowing revolver, electric fists...

any crazy weird ideas you have fun a gun is probably in this game. its a Diablo II style world with the exploration, loot, and skill points.

i wasnt going to post this but...

we got our shipment of borderlands in yesterday, and since the Gspot i work at doesnt have a 360 demo unit i put it in the PS3, very secretively, and messed around.

opening cut scene is pretty bad ass, has the "Cage The Elephant" song "aint no rest for the wicked" playing. i didnt play for very long, but the few people i did kill, i completely blew off their faces.

ill be playing again today for a bit

Diablo 2 was awesome.. But I dont like the cartoony looking graphics of this game.

its cell-shaded dude, its the new style video games are coming out as. as someone who makes graphics and stuff i figure youd be interested in the newest design. id still suggest looking into it jay, its jump in jump out online co-op.

check it out man, we could get some borderlands and madden goin :D

i started playing borderlands at roughly 1am my time...approx. 9hours 37 minutes ago. i just logged off for the first time to take a little shower/breakfast break.

im level 17 with some bad ass shit.

my 3 weapons i use currently

primary: sniper rifle that does explosive damage to anything that has flesh (yeah, its bad ass)

secondary: 6 shot revolver, fucking INSANE huge damage

tertiary: for when im in really tight situations i pull out my 2 shot shotgun. up close i can 1 shot ANYTHING 1-2 levels higher than me and everything below

max level is 50. im 17.

skill trees are set up similar to WoW: 5 points in top tier to unlock next row of abilities, 5 more to unlock 3rd row, so on, and so on....

3 trees, 16 levels needed to unlock the "ultimate" per tree. you do not get skills until level 5, so lvl 21 if you choose to go straight down 1 path.

the 4 player co-op is fucking spectacular. increase dmg output by 1.9% for all monsters with 4 people. so you have good scaling for the amount of people in your game.

EXTREMELY fun game, only thing i have come to despise is the vehicles. theyre just weird.

and fyi....taking a sniper shot at a mutant midget(not lying) and watching a) his head explode, b) a mini explosion on his chest, c) both is fucking amazing.

so far i give it a 10/10

from when i posted, took roughly an hour break.

been playing til up about 30 minutes ago. almost level 22. my strategy has changed some.

my sniper rifle has a corrosion acid with the bullets, so i shoot and pull out my 2 shot pistol which has just as big of a scope as my sniper does. then i proceed to shoot random targets with corrosion, then finish them with my pistol.

if they get close, i have an electric shotgun now, so thats always fun :)

i always have a mini phoenix that flies around and decimates people.

i just started playing today and got my hunter to 11.

question are all the sniper rifles revolver based? its just starting to annoy me with the reload animation

killing sledge was such a major pain in the ass. i somehow got him stuck in a corner and it took like 40 shotgun rounds to kill him

like 15 or 16 i think. a head crit with my 120ish sniper barely would dent his hp

dude i know got an eridian weapon, it fires just like the lasher(minus the lash), its beautiful.


also, dont know if anyone has played as Brick yet, but his berserk ability is insane.

the whole district i work in is completely sold out.

my younger brother up in chicago trying to get it, completely sold out at all stores around there....

for getting an 8.5 this game is the first thing to sell out like this since the Wii Fit.

Mild Spoilers

The whole deal is that there is some Portal or whatever that needs pieces of a key to unlock. The commander of the occupying army wants the key to open the portal for personal gain. Some spirit tells you that you are "chosen" to protect the portal. You spend most of the game finding the four pieces of keys and eventually fight both the indigenous creatures and soldiers from the occupying force.

You kill what comes out of the portal.

That is the "end" of the game. I haven't played it since I beat it. Going to sell back borderlands and put it towards MW2.
