Deathmatch only, one hit kills from behind with a 7 second animation in which you usually get shot or slashed etc.... and tiny ammounts of hit points and knockback when you get melee'd.

Its not fun, plus its laggy as hell, on marines, bullets lag by a second, an entire second. The shotgun and sniper rifle are useless. Also you can't choose a side at the moe, you just get auto put on a side, better not be like that live.

This game is not shaping up, even in beta, to be any good. The game is far to fast, deaths come far to quick in every form, its cheap and silly. Not even headshot quick, but lame deaths which you can't block.


IMO this will suck unless they change it. Also you can't matchmake, at least that could get fixed, you are stuck in the MW2 form or looking for players, not a server. FUCKING GAY.

I'm not happy with this at all.

On an up note, the game looks great and the atmosphere is awesome. The single player will rock me thinks, but right now, the basics of multiplayer [HP being 3 bars, lame one hit kills from behind, knockback for a second when hit from melee which just makes you lose your hp as a marine but win, and win as a pred, because the Alien cannot circle strafe to avoid attacks and the back attack just ruins the game for me.



EDIT: MW2 server matching making is not in the live game! Confirmed on the Rebellion website. Gay for the demo but soooo glad to hear that it won't be in the full game, things are looking up.

Anyone else had a chance to play it? I'm still iffy on the core gameplay but it is quite fun.

I downloaded the demo for Steam and on my PS3... tried logging onto the PS3 one but it just sits there scaning for servers, and I get bored after 5mins and turn it off. Havn't tried steam version yet.

The steam version was rubbish but they've fixed the issue now and it finds games a lot faster. Try it, and tell me when you do. ^_^

Tried it myself and actually did like it. I just don't like Deathmatch, not in AvP, it just doesn't use the most important part of the game, the diversity between the 3 races, well at all. Luckily they are supposed to have a number of other Multi-Player modes that will use that. Survivor (which will be like Left 4 Dead except Marines vs Aliens instead of Zombies), Infection (every Marine killed by an Alien becomes an Alien), and what I think was called Predator (King of the hill mode where there's 1 Predator and whoever kills him gets to be the Predator).

Also the Single Player will obviously be awesome, all the mechanics for it are their in Multi-Player and in Single Player I can see where they'd definitely shine. Still can't wait for it to release :D

They're all in AvP2 and more, which I assume they will include.

Plus all those modes can have different races [so surviver can be aliens surviving against marines] at least in AvP2 and I assume the devs for AvP3 arn't stupid and add that in.

Pred mode is called 'Hunt' as in AvP2, again you should be able to change the races but basically its a vs mode of ratios [say 4:1 marines vs. Pred] which again should all be changable. 'Infection' is actually Survivor from AvP2 and Survivor is another mode I cannie remember [unless they pointlessly changed the titles I'll assume you got them mixed up...or I'm wrong :s]. I play survivor with my house mates over LAN quite often.

TBH Falanx get AvP2 and give it a go [servers have shot up recently, I wonder why] because it is miles better. I don't want a cut scene for a kill, thats stupid and removes multi killing possibilities. AvP3 is gunna be an entertaining game and for people who never played AvP2 [I know, hard to believe] it'll be a huge change of pace from MW2 or other generic FPS games.

Tbh though its not for me. It feels like the changed things for the sake of making it seem cooler. "Hey look at this awesome death animation when I get him from behi...oh fuck someone shot me while I was doing that" - boring.

I prefer the manual wall climbing and, of course, pouncing.
