Hey guys, thanks for letting me drop by.

I'm a bit concerned that the Skullthrone server might end up having long log-in queues, and was wondering if we could pick a backup server just in case.

I picked Monolith over at the CRE website, but that was just totally arbitrary.

Let me know whats up whenever you guys know for sure, as I'm still very interested in guilding together and whatnot, assuming I can get most all of CRE to roll Order (which seems increasingly likely).

For the backup server, wouldn't we want that to be our destruction server?

And don't let the current queues fool you. They haven't released the servers to entire pops yet. That will only happen on the 18th with the full release.

For Destro, I picked Red Eye Mountain (you'll never guess why) for our alts.

For Order backup, I just meant in case Skullthrone queues end up at unreasonable levels a few days after release.

While its not really imperative to choose a backup Order server until we know if queues will be an issue, I just wanna nab my character names, being the jerkoff that I am.

Although I realize that they'll be upping the cap today, and again on Thursday, I also figure that there will be more people rolling on Skullthrone with each of those waves of invites, as people will be wanting to join their friends and guildies that are already there.

If the IGN and Warhammeralliance server thread and post counts are any indication, Skullthrone will be the single most populous server at release.

I'm not trying to be an alarmist, just trying to be prepared. Hopefully Skullthrone won't have any queues and we can all live happily ever after.

P.S. Sumi says on CRE site that there are already login queues for Skullthrone as of 10 am EDT.

EDIT - If the release of many more servers than they were originally planning is any indication, WAR will be jam packed with people. I don't think that finding people to play with will be the issue, quite the opposite.

We are trying to pick the server with the better guilds so in end game it will be more challenging and not be the only people online and have to wait 1 hour to play a damn BG.

We might be waiting now but only 50% of the server capacity is available. The other 50% doesn't get released until the 18th.

Actually, as of 6pm EDT yesterday, they removed the temporary cap on Skullthrone. The 40-minute login queues last night were after the cap lift.

Hopefully, people will begin rerolling, but being the pessimist that I am, I'm not holding my breath.

I've officially announced that CRE's backup server (in case the queues don't get down to 10-15 min tops by Sundayish on Skullthrone) as Iron Rock.

It was at High/High capacity at peak with the 2/3 cap in place, but did not have a queue for either realm.

I encourage people to grab their character names on that server as a backup plan. Its seeming increasingly likely that the non-DT CRE guys will be rolling Order there, and I'd very much love to keep us all together.

Most of our guys will start tomorrow so we will see what people think when they start playing and how annoying the queue gets.

and btw, mirror/andeh ill pick up your games tomorrow early morning around 10am my time. i didnt have time to get them today....i have work 12-5(not at gamestop), then class 5:45 til 10pm. so ill get up tomorrow morning and go pick em up.

Most of our guys are also getting on tomorrow, so we can see how things go.

Either way, I'd be inclined to hold off on jumping ship until at least Saturday or Sunday. Things could change a bit between now and then as the crowds start filtering in.

I'm in no rush to make a hasty decision, just trying to be prepared for stuffs. And things. Or whatever.

well im getting ready to log in, its 12:40 am now on thursday, 40 minutes after "live" launch. Ill let you know what it looks like after i dl the patches. Ill also be rolling order toons on Iron Rock in preperation.

My vote is for order. I plan on playing Which Hunter/Engineer, but i havn't figured out exactly which yet, but ill be around :)
